This run up Silver Canyon will show you the heart of the White Mountains. You will run up a dirt road that shows little traffic- even on a busy day! The route up Silver Canyon to the top of the White Mountains provides water, canyon views, and a difficult but rewarding climb to the top of the range. This run can be done as an out and back, otherwise a car drop and someone to meet you at the top is necessary. If you don't want a gruelling run to the top of the range you can run a moderate course up the dirt road for six miles before the road climbs out of the canyon. In heavy Sierra snow years this is a terrific 20-mile run that will allow you to go the distance and gain elevation.
