Sage to Summit is owned by Karen and Howie Schwartz. Karen has brought her lifelong passion for running to her adopted hometown of Bishop, CA. As a nationally certified pedorthist she is excited to offer professional shoe fitting and biomechanical analysis at her hip new retail store, located in downtown Bishop, CA. Sage to Summit is focused on serving people who thrive on the active, desert-mountain lifestyle of the Owens Valley and Eastern Sierra. This means making sure that the shoes and apparel we sell fit your needs, and function even better.
Sage to Summit Co-Owner Howie Schwartz is the behind the scene mastermind of the business. He came up with the name after a glorious 8000ft descent of Birch Mountain right behi nd our house in Big Pine when he literally skied from the sage to the summit. Howie has created his entire career to evolve around the mountains. He is a Internationally Certified Mountain Guide and an owner of Sierra Mountain Guides which takes him across the world climbing, skiing and mountain running. Howie enjoys product testing many of the of the accessories and nutritional products at Sage to Summit. Currently, Howie is a huge fan of Sharkies, Burt’s Bee’s Lifeguard’s Choice Lip Balm, Original Buff Headwear, and loves to run in ASICS Gel-Trail Attack shoes.
