XLC 490 Crampons

The lightest 12-point strap-on crampons in the world! Perfect for glacier travel and general mountaineering. Thermoplastic heel and toe harnesses wrap around nearly any hiking and classic mountaineering boot and are secured by strong nylon straps. While sturdy, aluminum crampons are not suitable for ice climbing or intensive mixed terrain.

Tracy Bahr - Light and easy to adjust, I have put them to use climbing up Contact Pass in mixed conditions worn on boots and descending from Mount Whitney on ice and wind-pack snow worn on running shoes. In both situations they felt very secure and effective - fun to use! I look forward to taking these crampons out more this winter!
